Identity — ultraweb

Origin: invented starting mark (logged in BRIEF.md §Assumed facts; ASSETS.md records zero visual client assets).

Construction

• Wordmark: lowercase "ultraweb", Space Grotesk 500, tracking −0.02em at 48px reference. Canonical rendering is components/brand/wordmark.tsx — live text in the committed face plus the cursor block; the SVGs in brand/ are convenience exports (they need Space Grotesk present to render true, documented limitation).
• Custom cut (the ONE): a solid cursor block appended after the final "b" — width 14u, height = x-height (25u at 48px ref), baseline-set, gap 8u after the b. It is the terminal signature at mark scale, and it takes --color-primary while the letters stay currentColor (the mark's one two-color allowance).
• Monogram: 32×32 viewBox, hand-authored compound path (fill-rule="evenodd"): a 24×24 block with a rectilinear square-bottomed "u" knocked out — the block cursor and the "u" are one shape. Strokes 4u (2px at 16px), counter 6u (3px at 16px). The counter IS the letter — the signature earning its second appearance as negative space.

Geometry

• x = the cursor block width (14u at the 48px wordmark reference; 4u grid module in the monogram).
• Clear space 2x all sides (the nav honors it as real padding) · min wordmark 96px (below that the counters of "a/e" and the block gap close) · min monogram 16px · print 20mm.

Color

currentColor default · cursor block = --color-primary (terracotta) via [data-slot="cursor"], letters never colored · mono variant 1-bit, no tints · never the accent for the letters, never the letters on the terracotta field (AA holds — 6.07:1 — but the mark drowns; monogram-on-accent is the sanctioned chip form).

Misuse

• No re-setting in JetBrains Mono (the mono face is data's voice, not the brand's).
• No blinking the cursor block in the mark (the hero terminal blinks; the logo never animates).
• No second glyph, symbol, or ligature — the block is the one gesture.
• No rotation, arc, outline, shadow, or glow.
• No placing the wordmark over the lattice texture (hairline collisions at small sizes).
• No tracing/regenerating the monogram — extend the recorded path data only.
